Creta wall & Step Series, Northampton, MA. 2005

 This project in Northampton used a mixture of 'Creta' and 'Mini Creta' concrete wallstone by Techo-Block.  The color is Earth Brown and it is good quality block.  To break up the monotony of the block we took two unique pieces of stone found on-site and pieced them into the wall.  We played off the stones by planting Variegated Redtwig Dogwood which complimented the variegation of the stones.  In addition, the stones were used to express the importance of the stairway in that it is the only access way into the home from the backyard.  Once mature the Variegated Redtwig Dogwood will aid in softening the block, but also create a sense of enclosure for the patio above.
